I am preparing for enrollment in Medicare in a few months, so I ordered this book to help me navigate all the confusion involved. It was VERY helpful to me, and I highly recommend you read it before your 65th birthday!

not those of us who need to understand what's available and what our requirements are to make the best use of the program

I just completed reading this work today and am thoroughly enlightened unlike in the past 7 years I've been preparing for Medicare and Social Security. The government publications are written for the government, not those of us who need to understand what's available and what our requirements are to make the best use of the program. This manual by Dr. Feke took me through the steps, obligations, liabilities and benefits like no other could. I was able to synch it with my IPad Air, Smart Phone, and Computer so I am able to reference it any time anywhere (thank you Amazon) and it will be a constant reference. The approach this brilliant and very compassionate doctor took should be a lesson to anyone anxious to provide a "How To" guide for anything. I fortunately have been doing things right so far, but that's because I am still employed at 70 1/2 and haven't had to make much use of all of the programs - B,C,D Medicare offers. Now I am prepared. Dr. Feke explained not only how the program works, but how the doctors and hospitals, nursing homes and other care providers including medical equipment suppliers are affected and will affect me. I am prepared for the first time to not only understand the terminology, deadlines, alternatives, consequences and forms necessary, but to ensure I am making the best use of this program that will be (in addition to VA benefits) my only means of health care after retirement. I would love to have Dr. Feke speak to Veterans benefits if possible in the same manner. We as hard working and sacrificing Americans now approaching or have reached our senior years, are lead to be confused and duped by mega bureaucracies and institutions of medicine and health who have teams of lawyers and administrative specialists over complicating to their own benefit. Now we have an advocate to guide us when you would think that with as much we've paid in taxes our entire lives we should have for free from our "benevolent" government. Not going to happen. Dr. Feke is an angel and would that all members of her profession have the same passion, dedication, intelligence and bedside manner she has to help us grow old comfortably as we so deserve. You will be amazed at how enjoyable it is to read and so easy to retain. Thank you Dr. Feke, so much more than you can know.
