Excellent Scholarship

The book is simply more than what many of the reviewers have stated. It is multi-faceted in its approach and the epitome of acadmemic scholarship. Lincoln works with a dozen languages and takes on the masters and mentors of his own field: The History of Religions. He deconstructs their mythology and interrogates a century of German nationalist thought--the basis of which became the foundation for the ideologies of anti-semitism. Additionally, Lincoln's efforts here have given me a renewed faith in historical methodology, illustrating by example that "showing your work" via the footnote and a careful reading of the primary and secondary material, that one can truly challenge those mythologies that continue to subvert our own imaginaries. This is History at its finest!

Amazing!

I'm a marriage therapist so I've read a lot of marriage books. What's so different about Dr. Baucom's book is that it's not only insightful...it's practical. Finally I don't have to wade through all the theory and therapist talk to get to what actually works. From a man that does this every day with real life clients.
I liked the section on how NOT to save your marriage. But for me the best part was the KNAC protocol for Change. It really does give hope!

Lee Baucom saved my marriage

Dr. Baucom saved my marriage. This book, along with his hours of free podcasts and his ebook save the marriage system, brought my marriage back from the dead. There was a big shift in my way of thinking about my husband and our marriage, and this had a positive effect on my behavior (which is, after all, the only thing I have control over). One of the important points he makes is that one person working alone can turn a marriage around, and this was the case for us. If not for my husband's embarrassment, I would be telling everyone I know about Dr. Baucom; so many people are struggling with marriage problems, disconnection, midlife crises, affairs, etc. I am grateful every day to have come across his materials.

This book is very practical and to-the-point.

Dr.Baucom really knows what he's talking about! I've read everything of his I could get my hands on,and even other authors he's referenced. I spent a lot of wasted time reading other books and online articles. I've never thought saving my marriage could be so simple and common sense bassed . I no tricks or manipulation

About the Author
Xavier Zubiri (1898-1983), is a famous contemporary Spanish philosopher. Zubiri rethought the problems of philosophy in a very profound way and developed a radically new approach to knowing and reality, termed Sentient Intelligence. His thought is a synthesis of classical philosophy (from Aristotle to St. Thomas) and phenomenology, but goes beyond both. Zubiri's theological writings utilize this philosophical framework. Thomas Fowler is president and founder of the Xavier Zubiri Foundation of North America. He has translated two other works by Zubiri and is editor of The Xavier Zubiri Review, a journal devoted to Zubiri studies. He also serves as adjunct professor at George Mason University and his book, The Evolution Controversy, A Survey of Competing Theories was published in 2007. Nelson Orringer is a retired professor of comparative literature at the University of Connecticut, who has authored many books about Spanish literary and philosophical figures and has translated a book by Zubiri into English. He is widely respected as an expert on twentieth century Spanish authors, especially Ortega y Gassett, Unamuno, and Zubiri, among others. Joaqu�n Redondo is a longtime scholar and researcher of Zubiri. A native speaker of both Spanish and English, he is in a unique position to translate Zubiri's philosophical expressions, often metaphorical, into clear English. He has also translated three other works by Zubiri in addition to this book, and is preparing a fifth.

wow no intent to finish

Amazing story, I'm a big pepper pace fan and love her ir romances and i gotta say I'm not surprised this book is amazing. Anyone can write a story but pepper pace really shows you what a writer looks like and can do with her flawless talent , the only word i can muster for her writing right now is "captivating". However I'am disheartened that after reading tumbler that she does not plan to continue the series, its a shame for two reasons, one this book shows the broad ranger of her ability as a writer and two as a pepper pace fan I would have hoped she'd have more consideration for her avid readers. Her books offer a great escape and happiness for people . To start a book and publish it for people to purchase with no intent of finishing it..Wow...just had i known that I would not have bought the book no matter how good it is. Book and readers are like a relationship and noone wants to feel slighted. I understand the book was for her beloved children, if I could I'd want to carve out my childrens face in the biggest mountain, but even if i could i think id also come to realize the social implications of doing that (ripple effect) negative or positive and I say this because this book was published and available for eveyone to buy....it just kinda sucks.

I enjoyed this book so much that I gave it to my kids to read and they enjoyed it as well. I cannot wait for the next book. The story line was so original and detailed that I literally could not put it down. Thanks Pepper!

This was Fantastic!

I can't begin to say how much I enjoyed this book. I thought when I turned to the last page in my favorite series a few years ago, that I would never again read something in this genre that would hold my interest like that series did. I'm very glad to say I was wrong. This was so fun and exciting to read. So much adventure packed into these pages, giving our rag tag group the chance to prove to themselves and each other that they are stronger than they may seem. I could really see everything that was going on in this book as though I were watching a movie. You could just see the bond growing between them. It was all told so vividly and I really enjoyed every page (even with the weird scratched out parts). I can't wait to see what happens next. Please don't keep us waiting too long! Move over J.K.
